Manzarek-Rogers highlights fall lineup at Shank Hall

Legendary Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek and slide guitar guru Roy Rogers will perform Oct. 14 at Shank Hall, one of several fall shows announced by the rock club at 1434 N. Farwell Ave. Other headliners include a band featuring drummer Carl Palmer, of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Asia, and gigs by Dan Navarro and Swedish bluegrass outfit Abalone Dots.

First, his real name is Troy Andrews. Second, hes called Trombone Shorty because he started playing trombone at age 4, when his instrument was longer than he was high. His older brother, James, saw him marching in a street parade, gave him the sobriquet, and it stuck.
