Product Description

In the mid-50s, a sunburst finish was not an available option on a Gibson Les Paul. In 1958, Goldtops were phased out and a cherry sunburst became the standard finish. Sunburst finishes became all the rage with some really popular artists such as Clapton and Bloomfield using late-50s 'Bursts. The single-cutaway Les Paul guitars were discontinued in '60-'61 and were not reintroduced for several years. Many players started stripping the gold off the top of their early-mid-'50s Gibson Les Paul guitars and having them refinished to emulate the desirable Sunburst Les Pauls. The Gibson Custom Refin features a beautiful Slow Iced Tea Fade top and even has an offset center seam to emulate the originals. The Gibson Refin Hot-Mod Les Paul also introduces a comfortable and resonant neck shape, the Soft Shoulder '55 Neck Profile. The hot-mod slant on the Gibson Custom Hot-Mod 1955 Les Paul Goldtop Electric Guitar originates from a custom-ordered 1955 Les Paul that was later modified with humbucker pickups (introduced by Gibson in 1957). The classic combination of maple-topped mahogany body with ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and humbuckers delivers a glorious monster tone that introduces a comfortable and resonant neck profile. Alnico V pickup The Alnico V pickup found in the neck position on the Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Custom electric guitar was designed in 1952 by Seth Lover and Walt Fuller for Gibson to succeed the P-90 single-coil pickup on several of Gibson's distinguished archtop jazz hollowbodies, most famously the L5 CES, ES-5, and Byrdland guitars. Similar to the P-90 in appearance, the Alnico V is easily recognized by its distinctive rectangular pole pieces. The guitar pickup gets its name from the stronger Alnico V magnets, while each coil has 10,000 turns of 42-gauge wire to achieve its clear, round, ringing sound. It made its debut on a solidbody Gibson in the Fretless Wonder of 1954, the Les Paul Custom, or Black Beauty. P-90 single-coil pickup The bridge position

Product Description

With the release of the 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Sunburst Reissue Antiquity Burst Electric Guitar, the Gibson Custom Shop takes the art of recreating the company's hallowed guitars to an entirely new level. Antiquity Burst The 50th Anniversary of the 1959 Gibson Les Paul has brought many exciting sunburst finishes which have emulated the way original examples have faded over the past half century from the original Cherry Burst due to exposure to various climatic changes - both natural and manmade. The 50th Anniversary 1959 Gibson Les Paul in Antiquity Burst takes this concept to an entirely different level. The Antiquity Burst represents the revelation one would encounter if he were to remove the pickguard on an original fifties burst for the first time. Areas that were for decades protected from UV exposure still maintain their original brilliant Cherry Burst. This is true for all of the plastic covered parts on the burst. Below the toggle ring is also the original brilliant Cherry Burst and Gibson even replicated this under the pickup mounting rings! The pickguard and toggle ring are included with the instrument for the new owner to decide if he wants to share the secret of the Antiquity Burst by leaving them off or install the toggle ring and guard and join the Knights of the Secret Society of the Antiquity Burst. The '59 Burst There have been many great guitars throughout Gibson's long and storied history as a maker of musical instruments, but only one remains the definitive pinnacle of electric solid body guitar design. That guitar is the 1959 Les Paul Standard. Coveted both by players and collectors as the ultimate example of playability, attractiveness and tone, the iconic 1959 Les Paul guitar simply has no equal. True reissue The 1959 Les Paul Sunburst reissue is true to all of the original guitar's features and characteristics, including Gibson's traditional hand-carved figured maple top and solid, non-weight relieved mahogany body. The headstock is c

Product Description

The new SCGC RS Sunburst model is another modern interpretation of a vintage Gibson jumbo. Santa Cruz has had great successes with their previous "Slope Shoulder Classic" inspired instruments. For these slope shoulder jumbos Santa Cruz chooses perfectly quarter sawn, narrow, stiff, spruce brace stock, and then double tapers it. The first taper extends out beyond the bridge plate and then the second taper drops to the linings. This heavily knifed bracing style is something unique to Santa Cruz developed exclusively to create the woody, dry, explosive tone that the old Gibsons were prized for. It creates a light low mass brace, while not losing the snap and explosiveness that can be the result of a scalloped bracing design.

The 60th anniversary of the Fender Telecaster guitar has been celebrated by a unique and unprecedented release of some of their most collectable and historical instruments. This particular guitar is a reproduction of one of the most collectable guitars ever. After the Gretsch company asked Fender to drop the "Broadcaster" name, Fender simply cut the decals so that they read "Fender" only. The LTD Limited Nocaster 2 Pickup model features a premium ash body with the Custom Shop Relic finish treatment, 1-piece maple neck, 25.5" scale length, and a 21-fret maple fretboard. A Flat Pole Broadcaster single-coil pickup in the bridge position, and Vintage 50's single-coil pickup in the neck position offer the player a wide variety of tones for any style of music.
